Zoom Avatar Integration
Zoom offers built-in avatar support and works with third-party virtual camera tools for AI avatar meetings. Learn to set up both approaches.
Zoom's Built-In Avatars
Zoom has native avatar features that mirror your expressions:
- Available in Zoom 5.10+ for desktop and mobile
- Choose from animal and stylized avatar options
- Tracks head movement, expressions, and mouth for lip sync
- No additional software required
- Enable via: Settings → Video → Avatars
Setting Up Built-In Avatars
Update Zoom
Ensure you're running Zoom 5.10 or later. Check for updates in the app.
Enable in Settings
Go to Settings → Video → Enable Avatars (admin may need to enable for your organization).
Select During Meeting
In a meeting, click the arrow next to "Stop Video" and choose "Choose Virtual Avatar."
Customize
Select your preferred avatar style and customize colors and accessories.
Third-Party Avatars in Zoom
For photorealistic or custom avatars, use virtual camera tools:
- Set up your avatar in HeyGen, NVIDIA Broadcast, or VTube Studio
- Enable the virtual camera output from the avatar software
- In Zoom, go to Settings → Video → Camera and select the virtual camera
- Your AI avatar now appears as your video feed in the meeting
