MetaHuman Creator Beginner

MetaHuman Creator is Epic Games' cloud-based tool for sculpting photorealistic digital human faces. Using a blend-between-presets approach, you can create unique characters by morphing between existing face templates and fine-tuning every detail from bone structure to skin texture.

Getting Started

  1. Access MetaHuman Creator

    Navigate to metahuman.unrealengine.com and sign in with your Epic Games account. The tool runs entirely in the browser.

  2. Choose a Starting Point

    Select from preset faces or upload a photo for Mesh to MetaHuman conversion. The AI will generate a base face matching your reference.

  3. Sculpt the Face

    Use the Blend panel to morph between presets. Fine-tune with the Sculpt tools for individual features: eyes, nose, mouth, jawline, ears, and wrinkles.

Exporting to Unreal Engine

Once your character is ready, download it via Quixel Bridge directly into your Unreal Engine project. The MetaHuman plugin handles asset management, LOD generation, and Blueprint setup automatically.

File Size: A single MetaHuman character can be 500 MB to 1 GB on disk due to high-resolution textures, groom assets, and multiple LOD levels. Plan your project storage accordingly.
